Some Best Practices I have Learned for My Etsy Shop Along the Way...

So I am about a month into having my Etsy shop on line with active listings and by far the hardest part and I knew it would be is finding places online to get some exposure for my shop.   It's like ramming your head into a brick wall every time you face this issue.  You know you have a good quality product, and you know it would sell well if the right people looking for your product saw it but how do you make that happen?

I see a lot of Etsy shops out there with a great number of sales and you think OK it can be done.  I know there was one shop that is no longer on Etsy that was bringing in over 100,000 K a month! Well so far one of the best and strongest tools I have found is:

1.  Become active on Etsy Teams. This really has been a huge way to get views to my shop.  The more chatty you are the more people will get to know your brand and what you do.  Play the promotion games and make sure that you don't just post and run.  Karma will come back to bite you in the butt.  Take time to support the other shops and they will into do the same for you.

2.  Start a facebook page for your shop.  I don't know how much this has helped me in terms of sales but it does get your shop out there on facebook so your FB family and friends will see it.

3. Tweet about your shop.  I am pretty lucky in the fact I have a twitter account with about 8750 or so followers.  So when I tweet about my items I will get some onlookers to visit. from my twitter feed.

4.  Register you name. So I did this first thing and I registered my name and got that coveted .com.  Right now I just have it so that it transfers right to my Etsy shop but I do hope to possible create my own shop with it some day.

5.  Pinterest.  Definitely pin your listings.  It's a great way to get more exposure for sure.

6. Craigs list.  I'm still learning about this one but I think if you post in the right places you can get some traffic from here too

This needs to be an ongoing list because every day is a new learning experience in the world of Etsy Sales.
